13 September
The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the NDA & NA Examination (II) 2026 on 13 September 2026 — just under three weeks away — for 394 vacancies across the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy. This offline exam is the gateway to a career as a commissioned officer in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, taken after Class 12.
With NDA 1 2026 results already declared and SSB interviews for that batch underway, NDA 2 aspirants should now be in focused final-preparation mode.

Eligibility
- Age/Marital status: Unmarried candidates within the prescribed age bracket per official notification
- For Army Wing: Passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board
- For Air Force/Naval Wing: Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Class 12 appearing candidates can also apply — if selected via SSB, the 12th result must be available by 10 June 2027
- Must meet prescribed physical fitness standards per the official notification
Cut-off & Qualifying Standard
Candidates must score at least approximately 25% in each individual subject (Maths and GAT), in addition to meeting the overall cut-off set separately for each defence service (Army/Navy/Air Force). Both section-wise and overall cut-offs must be cleared — scoring well in one paper doesn't compensate for failing the other's minimum threshold.

- Answer Key: Released a few days after the exam; can be challenged via UPSC's Question Paper Representation Portal
- Written Result: Roll numbers of qualified candidates published in PDF form
- SSB Registration: Shortlisted candidates must register on the Indian Army recruiting website within 2 weeks to generate their SSB call-up letter
- SSB Interview: Two-stage process testing intelligence and personality
- Final Merit List: Combines written exam marks (900) and SSB interview marks (900) — SSB carries equal weight to the written exam
Final 3-Week Preparation Priority
- Full-length timed mocks — simulate the actual 2.5-hour Maths paper and GAT paper conditions
- Error analysis — review every mock test mistake rather than just attempting more papers
- Current affairs revision — cover the last 6 months for the GK component within GAT
- Physical fitness — begin conditioning now, since SSB physical standards matter as much as the written score
