Registration Ahead
The National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main as the gateway entrance exam for admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and — for top scorers — eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced for IIT admission. JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration is expected to open in October or November 2026, with the exam itself likely in the last week of January 2027.
Like previous years, JEE Main 2027 will run in two sessions — January and April 2027 — and your best score across both attempts counts toward your final percentile.

Eligibility & Exam Basics
- Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- No upper age limit for JEE Main registration
- Can attempt JEE Main for 3 consecutive years after Class 12, twice per year within that window
- Paper structure: 75 questions, 300 marks, covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, based on Class 11 & 12 NCERT syllabus
- Computer-based test (CBT) mode

Yes, in most cases — since only your best score counts, appearing in both sessions gives you a second chance without any downside beyond the extra application fee and preparation time. Many top scorers use Session 1 as a real-exam trial run and significantly improve their percentile in Session 2 with a more targeted final month of revision.

- NCERT first: Build your core conceptual foundation from Class 11-12 NCERT textbooks before moving to advanced reference books
- Daily focused hours: Most successful candidates aim for 6-8 hours of disciplined self-study with a consistent timetable
