⚙️ How to Register for SBI WhatsApp Banking

To keep your account secure, you cannot just start chatting. You must first register using the mobile number that is linked to your SBI bank account. Follow these two easy steps:

Step 1: Send the Registration SMS

From your registered mobile number, send an SMS in the following format to +917208933148:

WAREG <Your SBI Account Number>

Example: WAREG 12345678901

Step 2: Start Chatting on WhatsApp

Once you receive a successful registration SMS, save the official SBI WhatsApp number: +919022690226 to your phone contacts.

Open WhatsApp, send a simple "Hi" to that number, and the SBI bot will reply with a menu of options!

⚠️ Strict Security Guidelines

  • Look for the Green Tick: The official State Bank of India WhatsApp account will ALWAYS have a verified green tick next to its name. If there is no tick, block the number immediately.
  • No PIN Required: SBI will never ask you for your ATM PIN, CVV, OTP, or internet banking password on WhatsApp.
  • De-registration: If you lose your phone, you can instantly de-register from the service by texting "Hi" to the WhatsApp number and selecting "De-register" from another device.
